Many people don’t like to use a new way to do something they have used to do it another way for a long time.
If you tell someone to use a new way, he’ll be uncomfortable, frustrated, and may upset.
Examples:
- Telling your friend to come to university using a new road as it is less crawdad.
- Showing your team a new way to solve an issue.
- Showing your friend a feature of a new program or even an update for familiar program to him.
Let us take this example:
Nowadays, many people in the world use Microsoft Office 2003 although we have 2010 version available.
If you ask him, “why?!”
He will answer “I used to use 2003 version.”
Easily, does he think that one day he wasn’t used to use 2003 version.
That means that he can learn the new version & get the benefits of the updates to achieve more in same time.
Leaders should be flexible & fast learner, so they can do everything more accurate, faster & easier.
So don’t hesitate to learn new way or it is better if you discover a new way and tell others about.
